Historians use the word “boom” to describe a lot of things about the 1950s: the booming economy, the booming suburbs and most of all the so-called “baby boom.”
Now that we have a ‘boom’ in street food here in the UK, I decided to pay a visit to Revival Trailers in the West Midlands, they are a fairly new company who design and manufacture stunning ‘Airstream style’ trailers, specifically for the mobile catering market.
Savvy street food traders know that image and functionality is key to growing success in this industry. It seems that the only limitation to designing a street food stall, vehicle or conversion of any kind is simply your own imagination. Just about anything is possible and can be realised for a fairly small investment.
Revival Trailers really stand out in this category, their stunning designs capture everybody’s attention wherever they go and never fail to bring intrigue and smiles and of course, crowds!
Revival carefully manufacture these works of art using only purpose built exclusive galvanised steel chassis in all their trailers. Trailers can be built using single axle for their 17 and 19-foot models or twin axle for their 21 and 24-foot models. Utilising the highest quality materials, from marine quality fixings and windows to aviation grade coatings, Revival trailers will still be around for decades to come, just like their iconic inspirational counterparts.
Converted Airstream Vs Revival Trailer – In my opinion, there is no contest here! If you could find an Airstream at the right price, you might then have to spend a lot of money restoring it, before fitting it out with the right equipment etc.. Revival Trailers are hand-built from scratch using only brand new purpose built components throughout. They can be constructed and kitted out to your exact requirements and all Revival trailers come with a special aviation grade coating to all the aluminium surfaces, that not only protects from scratches but keeps your trailer looking sparkling new, eliminating the need for constant polishing of the surfaces. Revival also sell their full range of trailers in shell form, should you wish to kit it out yourself.
The beautiful Revival Trailer shown in the photographs on this page was commissioned by Ideas Box, who wanted to achieve maximum ‘Wow’ factor, the Revival Trailer certainly ticks all the boxes for them.
Initially, Ideas Box looked at converting either a ‘H’ van or vintage Airstream for their requirements, but moved away from these options because they wanted something brand new, to ensure reliability and practicality. Ideas Box first saw Revival Trailers in the Streetzine, and knew immediately that Revival was going to be their choice.
We chatted to Harvey Ward from Ideas Box, who owns this striking trailer, here’s what Harvey had to say about their experience with Revival:
“Having looked at many options, and there are many out there, we eventually chose Revival to build a trailer for us that would not only be a show stopper with incredible wow factor, but also have the functionality and flexibility for our exacting requirements. Richard from Revival was a real pleasure to work with, accommodating our every need and executing them all to the highest standard. The end result has made us very happy and she turns heads everywhere we go. Not only is she good to look at, she tows like a dream too, you have to look in the mirror to remind yourself it’s there!”
All Revival Trailers come with a 12-month warranty as standard, they are accredited NCASS approved trailer manufacturers.
Revival trailers are also individually VCA type approval tested, for further information please click on the VCA Logo at the bottom of this page.
