And that’s why we are confident that our patties are the real McCoy. Funnybones Foodservice is after all the foodservice arm of one of Jamaica’s most successful businesses, Grace Foods, and our Jamaican staff, both in the Caribbean and here in Britain, are very picky about ensuring our foods taste really authentic.
Anyone who has visited the Caribbean islands will know that a patty is as much a part of the culture as a pasty is in this country. But of course, being from Jamaica, the patty has a warm, spicy taste all of its own, and the crunchy, flaky pastry is a lovely turmeric yellow which shouts of sunshine.
The new patties from Funnybones Foodservice are as true to their Caribbean roots as possible. They are made to traditional Jamaican recipes with authentic herbs and spices and fresh Scotch Bonnet chillies to bring the true flavours of the region.
There are four varieties. Each comes frozen in a pack of 20 and needs only defrosting and baking to provide a delicious quick meal for a hungry customer.
Beef patty Made with quality British beef combined with aromatic herbs and spices to give the authentic taste of Jamaica. This is the version you can pick up at the gas station, in the supermarket or from street sellers all over the West Indies.
Chicken patty Jerk Chicken is one of the most well-known dishes of the region. This spicy patty combines good quality chicken with our own uniquely Jamaican jerk recipe, all wrapped up in golden pastry to create a really delicious patty.
Saltfish patty Saltfish is one of Jamaica’s national dishes. These patties are made from boneless salted cod cooked with a medley of vegetables and lots of spices and herbs.
Stew peas patty Finally a vegan patty. Just as tasty and delicious as the others, but baked without any animal products and filled with stew peas which is a traditional dish made with kidney beans and a coconut sauce .
Funnybones Foodservice specialises in American, Tex-Mex and Caribbean foods, offering a wide range of authentic specialist and mainstream products that represent the best of the cuisines from this part of the world.
