Little Cherry are an online supplier of natural biodegradable tableware and a wide range of ethical and stylish party supplies for street food, events, weddings and festivals with style. We supply to caterers, event organisers and consumers throughout the UK. Our aim is to make food look fabulous on our environmentally-friendly products.
We are showcasing our existing and extensive product range of biodegradable tableware at this year’s Lunch! Trade Show and will have new designs and shapes of products not previously available on the market to display at the show. Our new range includes pizza plates, platters for canapés and sushi and different shapes and sizes of bowls ideal for curries, soups and desserts. Also new to the market are our incredibly versatile natural coconut shell bowls which will also be on display.
Our tableware products fall into 4 main categories of material from which they are made, as follows:
Palm Leaf –
Our range of natural palm leaf tableware literally falls from the trees in the forests of India. The naturally fallen palm leaves are collected and soaked in spring water before being heat pressed into shape and dried. There are no coatings, no additives and no chemicals – just the natural leaf. The raw material is completely natural, sustainable and compostable. The products are very sturdy and are suitable for hot, wet and oily foods and are also safe for freezer and microwave use. We have an exciting and extensive product range which includes serving platters, bowls, plates and dishes in a variety of shapes and sizes. We have commissioned unique shapes for a contemporary and sleek look.
Wheat Fibre –
We are the only supplier of such a wide range of this product here in the UK. Our Wheat Fibre range of biodegradable, disposable plates and bowls is available in full case quantities for catering/trade use. This crop fibre derived material is made from pulped straw. It has a lovely, natural, pale caramel colour. This range is a compostable, earth friendly option and will fully biodegrade in commercial composting or landfill. They are a great “green” alternative to styrofoam and much sturdier than paper.
Sugar Cane –
Our Sugar Cane range of biodegradable, disposable plates and bowls is also available in full case quantities for catering/trade use. This tree fibre derived material is made from spent sugarcane. This range is also a compostable, earth friendly option and will fully biodegrade in commercial composting or landfill. As with the wheat fibre, they are a great “green” alternative to styrofoam and much sturdier than paper.
Everything in our Bamboo range is made from organically grown bamboo which is annually renewable; that means you can stock up on as many bamboo disposable plates, bowls and cutlery sets as you like without having a detrimental effect on the environment. This range is fully biodegradable (they naturally break down over a short period of 4-6 months). Due to the increasing popularity of this product, we have recently introduced a selection of case quantities for our best sellers.
We stock a wide range of cutlery, skewers, napkins, cups, vintage style paper straws and even decorations such as bunting and balloons to complete any event.
Why are we exhibiting at Lunch!?
With the rise of pop up restaurants, street food traders and outside caterers throughout the UK, we are keen to introduce our stylish and biodegradable products to this market. We think we offer a very unique range and we are also able to sell in smaller pack sizes for those customers who require smaller quantities.
What do we hope to gain and who do we hope to meet?
We hope to widen our contacts with caterers, street food suppliers and restaurant owners and increase the profile of the Palm Leaf range, in particular, into the marketplace.
We are looking to meet anyone involved in catering for any size of outdoor events, from a small individual street food seller to a restaurant chain.
We aim to show the Lunch! customer that there are high quality, attractive disposable options available where traditional crockery is not practical and which combines sustainability with style and elegance.
The importance of Lunch! to our business?
We see Lunch! 2014 as a fantastic opportunity to reach a wider and relevant audience. We are also really looking forward to meeting lots of our current customers face to face.
