Hart Family Brewers uses Biopac’s ‘I am not a plastic cup’ to give customers a clear conscience when enjoying their favourite drink.
Hart Family Brewers have chosen to use eco friendly ‘I am not a plastic cup’ PLA tumblers from environmental packaging specialist, Biopac.
PLA Tumblers are made from renewable cornstarch, so the tumbler is 100% compostable and sustainable. They give a clear message about your commitment to the environment and can be disposed of by industrial composting. Both half pint and pint sizes are over-sized, lined, and carry the government approved CE marking.
Mark Brigden, Director at Biopac said, “Our PLA Tumblers offer the same durability and aesthetic appeal as plastic tumblers but are kinder to the environment. They can be composted and broken down completely in less than 12 weeks, compared to conventional plastics which can take 400 years to break down.”
Hart Family Brewers brew traditional English beers from top quality ingredients, hand made in their custom-built brewery in Northamptonshire. They were looking for an eco-friendly pint glass to use at their events.
Rob Hart, owner of Hart Family Brewers said, “We hold lots of events at our brewery and further afield and knew that disposable cups were the best option for us. We simply couldn’t face the thought of adding to the huge amount of plastic thrown away every year.”
Rob added, “When we came across Biopac’s ‘I am not a plastic cup’ tumbler, we knew straight away that it was the right product for us. CE line marked, and over-sized to boot, our customers get a full pint of pure beer and the comfort of knowing that drinking their favourite beer isn’t going to have a negative impact on the environment.”Biopac’s cups are certified to European standards for compostability – EN13432.
Hart Family Brewers were recently awarded Gold in the Artisan Local Drinks Category in the Carlsberg Northants Food & Drink Awards 2013/14 for their 1833 India Pale Ale 6.6%.
